I went out on Long Island Sound today expecting nothing but bluefish. That's been the story so far this month. I did find some blues in the back of the Bays that chased crease flies and poppers. But the real story of the day turned out to be Bonito! I came across this erratic surface bust that always seemed to move just out of casting range. Finally, I got a popper in the mix, and was stunned to see and hear my reel start to scream. The school of six-pounders stuck around chasing bait in 14-feet of water for about a half hour. Yeeeehaaaah!
