Fall Fishing Heats Up

Two straight days of fishing marked the beginning of fall patterns for me. I played guide both days. On Friday I took my brother and my Dad fishing and we ran over 100 miles in search of a bite, and finally got a few decent schoolie stripers to show for it. Yesterday, I played host to four anglers, and we stumbled upon a classic bluefish blitz. The blues were hammering peanut bunker at the start of the incoming tide. We saw some excellent sustained blitzes and chased the fish for three hours before the bite completely shut down. The blues were a little finicky because of all the bait in the water, but we got them to bite on small silver spoons and popping plugs. My future brother-in-law got some great photos of the action.
